This is a great farmers market if you are a Salvadoran on food stamps. Uncle Sugar’s new program to put fresh veggies in your salsa is in full effect here. And don’t get me wrong – I think it is a very positive program at many levels. But…it is not much of a farmers market for anyone else. This is a Latin American breadline dressed as a farmers market. Since your taxes are already paying for the fun, why not go to a market and spend your yuppie farmers market dollars on $8 eggs somewhere pleasant? A very important resource in our community. The City however refuses to get the Healthy Ways Program working properly. It’s about to be 2022 and the CITY’S ESA HHS is still FORCING the SNAP PROGRAM TO USE PAPER INSTEAD OF GETTING THIS program up and running properly. RIDICULOUS. Get it together. Confirming no dogs (post COVID) as vendors prefer the current setup for foot traffic within the space. But you can leash your dog(s) on the stage where there is a water bowl and plenty of treats. This farmers market on the National Mall has local produce and freshly prepared food and beverages you can enjoy at a table or picnic-style on the grass, with blankets provided. There are also interesting special exhibits. Fridays, May through October, from 9-2. A good place to visit before the museums open, have lunch, or pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and other items to take home. They often have dairy, meat, quiches, pies, pasta, mustard, honey, and other things I can’t remember! Staff and volunteers are very friendly
They offer triple match for food stamps and pay what you want (pay less if you need, more of you can) options.
They also have classes
Next to a playground, water spray area, outside exercise area, parking.

We really enjoyed this place. They have a great variety of fruits and vegetables. There are also food and bread vendors. It was very busy on a Sunday. I would definitely recommend this place.
Excellent farmers market! Plenty of fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, coffee, homemade soaps, etc and yet I chose to try a lump crab cake, which I unfortunately forgot to note the name, but it was distinctively delicious. Even in the dead of the winter cold the market was buzzing! Need to make a point to get back in the early Spring when the weather is even better
AmazIng farmers market on Sunday morning at DuPont Circle. Excellent variety of vendors, from coffee and breakfast to produce, cheese, dairy, baked goods and more. Gets busy so go early, but not too early as many vendors won’t start selling until 830 on the nose.
Local produces, lovely and warm families selling produces with passion. A great conversation starter for the sunday experience. Tried some scones, fresh fruits, and juicy burgers.
This is a few steps from the hotel I stayed in. It’s a great chance to see the wonderful produce grown here. I loved it. I bought coffee and a breakfast roll which had sausage and omelette in it. Delicious. The colours, freshness and size of everything is amazing. I loved it. I would have loved to have brought some of the jams etc home but wouldn’t be allowed to take them on the plane.
