Beautiful views and the trails are pretty easy and great for all ability levels. The jump line is incredibly fun, the climbs aren’t bad, and there’s some new options out back. They do a great job taking care of the terrain, and it links into multiple other networks. The trail to the Mt. Olga Fire Towner were well maintained (given the recent summer rains) and I appreciated the informational signs on the flora and fauna. It was a really good trail for a light hike, lots of roots but well maintained. It was simple but very pretty throughout the hike with small bridges and stone stairs. At times you can hear a chainsaw but the peak was quiet with a nice view. It’s a small clearing with 1 bench that can fit about 2 people, it would be crowded with more then 4 groups of people there at once. The entrance is not marked well. If you’re coming from the north, look for the driveway in the wooded section after Leclair Drive.
The parking lot holds about 10 cars: much more than the nearby Five Trees lot, which shares the same outlook as a destination.
Most of the hike goes through private land, which is an active logging forest. Some of the yellow blazes can be hard to see. If you ever feel you’re on a logging road, turn back and look for the trail.
After a rain this trail can get quite muddy. It took about 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace.By Chris Webb (5 months ago)My first time hiking this trail and I was not disappointed. Lots of people said this hike was hard and short. Didn’t find it hard but also didn’t find it short. Took about a little under 3 hours to do if you’re hiking at a leisurely pace and want to stop for photos at the overlook. The trail is at an incline and rocky so wear appropriate shoes. The nature at this location is really nice especially in the fall. I liked the little waterfalls and streams as you go up. The hike is ~3miles but is fairly steep oneway, that could make it tiresome for kids or adults with pre existing conditions.
The view is amazing and also has a connection to Appalachian trail. There are nobdigns to find the spot. Instructions and signs are required and therefore I took a star off. The signs are there but after you pass the trail indicating you tobgo back.

One of the best Hikes in VT. It is very short, however what you can see from the summit is amazing. Bang for your buck one of the best hikes. The views are astounding. There is a very clean bathroom at the trail head, as well as a picnic area. There is plenty of parking and the trail is very easy to access. The trail has many rock steps, and is pretty steep. However it’s pretty easy to climb, and the hike is only 0.2 miles long. So it is very done even for novice climbers. There are signs at the summit giving you info on the area. And there are great places to view Kettle Pond and Lake Groton.
I have been on this mountain multiple times since 1990s it’s a fun little 20 minute get out and join nature type of thing, and the trees are starting to overgrow the view of the two lakes and they’re contributing glacial imprints on the nature of formation and supporting habitat for our state.
Very nice and a must see! Hike is short but rough! Very steep and quick though.
Steep climb for a 68 yr old, but it was worth it! Beautiful.
Be prepared for the amount of people at the top. Rude, loud and thoughtless of anyone else.
