4 years agoThis Dollar Tree actually has a variety of quality merchandise, however, the manager (middle aged woman with below shoulder length brown hair) was so rude it really ruined my shopping experience. Instead of coming up to me like an adult (and like a manager SHOULD) and telling me that they didn’t allow photography in the store, she instead got on the overhead speaker angrily calling for security to watch the isle I was in (I was the only one in the aisle so it was obvious she was angrily watching me take pictures of the merchandise.) So I walked up to her and said “I’m taking pictures for Google Maps, some of the pictures I took of a Dollar Tree in Eugene have over 35,000 views, basically it’s free advertising for you” to which she rudely snapped “we have advertising!” Anyhow, this woman shouldn’t be working with customers, let alone be a manager! But here’s the pictures I took before I spoke with the customer service challenged manager.3 months agoBe careful about the crayon pencils they are not colored pencils. It was a hassle returning them and the manager Becky/Murph was mean and rude !! She looked like she played professional football and is fug-ly ; maybe that’s was so mad 😡4 months agoLots of great stuff here and great parking. But I have to admit I’m surprised the store can still maintain business because I saw at least five people walk out of the store without paying 😔. Sad.5 months agoThe manager of this store, the female with the crazy blond hair is very rude and very passive aggressive. No other store in the Hollywood district yells at me for walking (NOT RIDING) my scooter in the store. Whole Foods, Rite Aid, Grocery Outlet, Sam’a Billiards even has not once snapped at me for walking my scooter in when I’m shopping or eating. And today i was getting stuff for a party that was happening at my work which is right next door to the the dollar tree. I get that the dollar tree is a hot spot for sketchy and un Kind People but not everyone is a jerk and she shouldn’t be so quick to judge somebody. And then as I’m on the phone with my boss who’s telling me what to get she continued to make passive aggressive comments about how I have lost her trust and made her lose her faith in humanity again. I will certainly not be shopping there again. Not worth the belittlement.3 months agoHappy 2023 Memorial Day Everyone! It’s 3:26pm and I just called Dollar Tree to find out what hours they closed. The lady who answered the phone said she couldn’t hear me the first time I asked “what time do you close?* She replied what was that, so I assumed her background was loud, so I repeated myself slower and a bit louder she then said extremely slow as if I was handicapped “weeee clooossssee aaaaatt 8 o’ clooocccckkk.. Seriously rude I will never shop here and pass the word.. so weird and rude. No. If you want to go to Dollar Tree’s that have friendly employees AVOID DOLLAR TREE in HOLLYWOOD DISTRICT.. For real. Anyways just a heads up. Have a beautiful blessed day everyone.. Including the sour p@*s who answered the phone.. 😁

3 months agoDepleted, the shelves were empty, the staff was in training, the crowd was minimum. The selection was disappointing, I can honestly say I did not find what I was looking for at all.6 months agoDo not work for this company they will treat you like trash make you work in horrible conditions and not pay you properly this is a bad place to work the company always thinks that the employees are theifs you are not allowed to have drinks with at all they have to stay in the break room if you have a drink anywhere else they right you up for theft negative stars onlya year agoTina is such a kind Manager to both her employees and customers. She truly helps those in need out of her own pocket. Please do not shoplift here. The employees that work here are all working hard to help the community so please don’t bite the hands that feed.a year agoI hadn’t been to this location since 2021 and I must say that its much cleaner than before. Darryl, the cashier was pleasant upon entrance and there was a line, which is normal. As we were in the middle of checking out his female friend entered the store, grabbed her item and said to him, “I’m going to leave my money here at the end of the register”, he said “okay”, she said “thanks Darryl” and walked out…. WTH, none of us customers wanted to wait in line either so his friends shouldn’t get special treatment!a year agoThe store and employees were Great! The parking lot? Yeah… Almost got trapped in my F-150. Pretty tight parking. You’ll be fine, in your Subaru or Prius. lol

It has plenty of space for a bunch of people who walk around. It has no public restrooms, but no worries the mall is right across the street has several public records. As you can see they also have stuff down for the pandemic and making sure everyone is safe. Me and my best friend met here. She got the idea for me to take pictures of stuff in the store and put it up for sale on website.
Thank you for checking my review out. If you could please follow me or like my post in my pictures I appreciate that. The reason being is Google gives us more points for doing the reviews and everything and I’m trying to earn more badges. I also wanted to show everyone other places.
Update 11/12/22
They’re ready for the holidays. A pleasure to shop a well-managed store. Especially on a quiet Sunday morning, but that’s just me. I added some photos of colorful goods that caught my eye. Managed to avoid the craft and toy aisles (so tempting) but I still found things for my art projects throughout the store. Who knew they carried so many types of rulers (I got a magnifying one). Brand name canned packaged foods, who wouldn’t want to shop here? I tried the Gourmet Beer Can Chicken (in the herbs and spices section) on a pork loin chop as a rub overnight, baked the next day and it was incredible. The staff, as always very friendly and helpful. Thanks! ( it might be a corporate decision but I miss the Pop Weaver microwave popcorn – it was the best.)
Update 8/6/22
This location continues to be my favorite. They stay well-stocked (except for occasional items that are hard-to-find anywhere from time-to-time for whatever reasons there are) and the staff is always friendly and helpful regardless of what they have to put up with sometimes (just the occasional wanderer like Tevery other place in Portland – and I’ve only seen them handle it professionally). It’s a good store. They’re already getting in Halloween product and there’s some cool stuff. Christmas will be next – they are always way on top of the seasons which I think is efficient and convenient haha! and fun.
Update: 9/17/21
I went in tonight for cookies, just cookies, in and out. Sure. Decided to swing through the crafts aisle. So well stocked with a truck-load more items waiting to be put away. Sean in that aisle was very busy and also very helpful. I got a few new things, went for the cookies: Bauducco brand sugar wafers are like heaven on the tongue and addictive, if you like sugar wafers these are the best anywhere. So many reader glasses too. I had to get a couple more pair because of the color selection even though I have plenty at home. At the front registers Erin and Daisy were very friendly and efficient. It’s seriously been a lot of fun going to Dollar Tree these days, as a veteran of customer service it’s been top-notch.
**********. ***********
I’ve been shopping at this location for about six years (sorely disappointed when the downtown W. Burnside location closed as it was near where I live). It has gone from pretty good to pretty awful to not bad up to where it was today which is the best it’s ever been. Clean, with well- stocked shelves, helpful staff and a crafts section that keeps growing, made it a pleasure to shop. Keep up the good work.
Very organized place at certain times the most. Don’t like when there is just one cashier at times. Don’t like the neighbors of the street hanging out in front and the parking lot looking sketchy. Other than that which the store has no control over I still give them a 4 because shopping in there was easy and aisle were easy to walk through. Just the one cashier at times is my reason for the 4. The cashiers are robotic and give you the service a cashier would give you. I get it. Items you would never think about are here for less. It’s 1.25 and yet they still call themselves Dollar Tree. 🤷🏾♂️
Lovely place to watch an employee engage (unprovoked) in a physical altercation with someone that was shoplifting while SCREAMING f*gg*t.
No call to Project Respond. No call to Portland Street Response. No call to police.
Tried to explain to the manager how unsafe that makes LGBT+ folks & she essentially told me not to come back and that “…we don’t need YOUR business”. Really nice bunch of staff.
This dollar tree is my favorite in all of Portland. They have everything you could possibly need and want and so much more that you never knew you needed or wanted!!! I should warn you… bring extra shopping bags and if you are on a budget, only bring what you plan to spend or you just might empty your wallet and bank account and max out your credit cards 😆 and you should never ever go when there’s a major holiday coming up because you may end up getting a loan just to buy every cite little decoration they have!!! Lol I’m avoiding my financial advisor!!!
